Keerai Chutney for rice

Keerai/ Green leaf veggie has so many health benefits.

As many of you would have bored with Keerai kadaisal/ poriyal.

Do try this Keerai chutney and serve with rice for lunch!


I have made this keerai chutney with siru keerai, can use any variety.

wash the green leafy vegetable twice or thrice to remove dirt from it.


Ingredients:

Siru keerai/any variety- 1 bunch cleaned

Bengal Gram/ Kadalai Paruppu- 1 tsp

Urad Dhal/ Ulutham paruppu- 1 tsp

Small Onion/Shallots- 5 nos

Red chilli-3

Coconut- 4 pieces

Tamarind- small piece

Salt to taste


Steps to prepare:



  1. Heat coconut oil in a pan

  2. Saute Bengal Gram,Urad Dhal , red chilli until golden brown.

  3. Saute small onion, garlic,till fried well

  4. Now add keerai to the kadai and fry till keerai is cooked well(Donot add water)

  5. Once cooked , cool down and blend it in a mixer along with tamarind and salt.


Serve the Keerai chutney with hot rice!
