Kovai Simple Kozhi Kulambhu

A Tamilnadu(Coimbatore Stlye) kozhi kulambhu is simple and delicious with hot idli's in the morning and hot white rice or ghee rice for lunch.The top oily layer of kozhi kulambhu will tempt us to take dozen's of idly usually in relaxed sunday morning's.

Ingredients

250 grams Chicken

10 to 15 Small Onion

6 to 7 Garlic pods

1 & 1/2 inch Ginger

1 Small Tomato

1 Medium Size Piece or 3 tsp of Grated Coconut

1 tsp Turmeric Powder

3 tsp Chicken Masala Powder

2 Red Chilly

Required amount of Salt

Few Curry Leaves


Steps To Follow

1.Heat a pan & 1 tsp of Oil, fry Small onion,Garlic &Ginger.

2.Once raw Smell goes add tomato & Chicken masala powder. (Don't fry too much)

3. Switch off the flame add coconut and mix well.Keep it aside.Let it cool



4.Grind it to a fine paste



5.In a pan add little oil, when it is hot add chicken and saute.

6.Now,add grinded masala with some water into a pan.

7.Add Turmeric Powder and salt.Close the lid and wait till Chicken gets tender.

8.You can see oil coming out when the masala boils.that is the stage to switch off the flame.




For Tempering

Heat a Oil in a pan,

add mustard seeds, red chilly, curry leaves,6 to 7 fennel seeds, 1/2 tsp ginger garlic paste & 1/4 tsp Chicken Masala Powder

Add it in a Gravy( this step will enhance the taste of gravy)
