We have prepared this no yeast aapam with Moong Dhal and with a flower shape.
Usually Appams are round in shape but we have prepared this in flower shape , which most kids love it.
These flower Appams adds beauty to your breakfast table. Giving more appetite to once eyes and taste buds.
Ingredients
Raw Rice/Pacharisi-1 cup
Idly Rice-1 cup
Urad Dhal-1/2 cup
Vendhayam-2 tsp
Moong Dhal- 1 cup(Soaked for 30 mins)
Cooked rice- 1 cup
Baking soda-a pinch
Salt to taste
Method
1. Wash and soak everything for 4 hrs
2. Grind both rice along with the cooked rice
3. Grind Urad dhal and vendhayam separately
4. Mix both the batters together
5. Rest it for another 8hrs or overnight for fermentaion
6. Now add Baking soda and salt and mix well
7. Grind the soaked moong dhal and mix it to the batter.
8. Follow the steps for flower appam
9. Heat the aapam kadai and pour the batter
8. Drizzle oil and cook in medium falame for 5-10 mins
9. Scrap the edges carefully so as to retain the flower shape.
Serve it hot!
